Overview

The JobChariot Chrome Extension (the "Extension") is a companion tool to the JobChariot web application at https://jobchariot.ai. It autofills job application forms on third-party Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) using profile data the user has saved on their JobChariot account.

What data we collect

The Extension reads:

  • Your JobChariot session token from localStorage on jobchariot.ai (to authenticate API calls).
  • Your saved profile data from your JobChariot account — name, email, phone, location, work experience, education, custom answers. Only data you have explicitly saved.
  • Your active resume PDF from JobChariot's secure storage. Only when you click "Fill".

The Extension does NOT collect:

  • Browsing history outside of supported ATS pages.
  • Form data on non-ATS websites.
  • Personal data from any website other than jobchariot.ai.
  • Tracking analytics or behavioral data.

How we use your data

The Extension uses your profile data exclusively to fill job application forms on supported ATS platforms (Greenhouse, Workday, and others). Data is never shared with third parties beyond the ATS the user is actively applying through. The user controls which ATS forms get filled by clicking the "Fill" button.

Where data lives

  • Profile data: stored in JobChariot's database (Supabase, US/Asia regions) under your account.
  • Session cache: stored locally in your browser via chrome.storage.local; cleared when you uninstall the Extension.
  • Resume PDFs: stored in JobChariot's encrypted storage. Accessed via short-lived signed URLs at fill time.

Data we do NOT sell or share

We never sell, rent, or trade your personal data. We do not share data with advertisers, analytics providers, or any third party for marketing purposes.

Permissions explained

  • storage: caches your profile locally for fast autofill without re-fetching on every panel open.
  • cookies: reads jobchariot.ai cookies to detect login state.
  • scripting: reads your session token from jobchariot.ai (only that domain).
  • activeTab: detects when you're on a supported ATS page so the side panel can mount.
  • host_permissions: limited to jobchariot.ai, api.jobchariot.ai, *.greenhouse.io, and *.myworkdayjobs.com. Used only to fill forms on those domains.

Your control

You can:

  • Edit or delete your profile at https://jobchariot.ai/profile.
  • Uninstall the Extension at any time. Uninstalling clears all local cache.
  • Delete your JobChariot account, which deletes all profile and resume data permanently.

Changes to this policy

We will notify users of material changes via the JobChariot dashboard. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
